As the daylight lingers longer each day, the more carnivorous folk start salivating in anticipation. Barbecue season approaches, liberating meat lovers from the less-flavorful pan-fried steak or bland poached chicken breasts. Likewise, the vegetarians in the family rejoice in the prospect of grilled summer squash or roasted beets and corn, rather than settling for another head of iceberg lettuce and canned beans. For juicy burgers and veggie kabobs at home or at the lake, industry leader Weber offers their portable Q-100 gas grill. The propane grill employs an 8,500-BTU stainless-steel burner to heat its 189-square-inch cooking area.

Weber crafted the grill's lid and body in tough cast aluminum with a sturdy glass-reinforced nylon frame. The grill ignites at the push of a button for reliable lighting, and an infinitely adjustable burner valve with a high-quality regulator makes it easy to control the heat. Meat sizzles on the porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates, while drippings follow the drip ducts to reduce potential flare-ups and enable quicker cleaning. Other highlights include a flavorizer system integrated into the cooking grate, a removable catch pan, and a large weather-resistant lid handle. The grill operates on a standard 14.1- or 16.4-ounce propane cylinder. Propane does not come included, but Weber does enclose a Weber Q cookbook of recipes and inspiration. The grill measures 16 by 27 by 23-1/2 inches with the lid open and carries a five-year limited warranty. --Jessica Reuling The Weber Q 100 gas grill has push-button ignition for easy reliable lighting, an infinitely adjustable burner valve with a high-quality regulator, sturdy glass-reinforced nylon grill frame, cast aluminum lid and body, a large weather-resistant lid handle, a porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grate, and operates on a standard 14.1 or 16.4 ounce propane cylinders (sold separately). The New Phoenix Portable Gas Grills, Fuel Type: Natural Gas, Finish: Stainless Steel Grill Head and Column Review

The New Phoenix Portable Gas Grills Whether you are a beginner or an experienced griller, the New Phoenix grill lets you whip up a gourmet finale to a busy day. Just place food directly onto the stainless steel cooking grid, close the lid, and walk away. While your meal is cooking, the juices drip down onto the cast aluminum drip pan, where they sizzle and release great outdoor smoke flavor that circulates back up into the food. Excess grease is directed into the large collector bucket, eliminating unwanted, flavor-damaging flare-ups. This grill features dual stainless steel burners that provide precise, even heating over a 400 square inch stainless steel mesh cooking grid. Heat inside the grill is regulated with dual valves that work in conjunction with a handy vent and damper slide system to control temperatures from 250° to 500° Fahrenheit. Other features include an electronic ignition with a stainless steel gas collector box for faster starts from either side of the dual burners, a stainless steel heat indicator, a cast aluminum drip pan that also shields foods from direct flame, and a large grease collector bucket. This grill comes in natural gas or propane models. The natural gas model comes with a 12-foot hose with quick disconnect coupler. The column base of the propane model conceals a 20 lb. propane ( LP ) cylinder ( cylinder not included ).
